Vampire Diaries’ Ian Somerhalder spotted talking to fans in Australia. Ian Somerhalder who plays clever vampire character Damon on CW’s new hit show “The Vampire Diaries” was recently spotted out in Sydney,Australia this past 4th of July weekend to greet and talk with fans at a “Vampire Diaries” fan event,along with his co-stars Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley,and Michael Trevino.

They talked about Vampire diaries at the Hub Productions Vampire Diaries convention. They answered questions from fans,told a few stories. There were also a variety of events held throughout the day,which included auctions,raffles,and trivia. They also sold merchandise and rare collectibles.

The fans also got to meet the stars,and get autographs from them. In related news, Julie Plec recently revealed that character Elena and Katherine will come face to face in the upcoming season 2,and it should be really interesting. Ian also revealed that it will be kind of difficult trying to play a different side of Damon with the Elena and Katherine characters.

According to amazon.com , Ian’s 2010 movie How to Make Love to a Woman is coming to DVD, in which Ian stars as Daniel opposite Krysten Ritter and Josh Meyers, It will be released on Region 1 / North American DVD on July 13, 2010. The DVD at $22.49 and is available for pre-order via their store. As of yet, there is no word on a Region 2 / European release

We all are culprits. As we speak, I’m driving, using fuel. The key is that we need to start moving toward green energy.”

To do his part, Somerhalder has joined forces with Go Green Mobile Power. “You’re the first person I’m telling this,” he shares. “I just became involved with a very strong green energy company that produces portable, mobile green power. The company’s called Go Green Mobile Power. Our first prototype is going to be done in a few days.”

Ian, Nina and Paul as well as Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec, Will all be at this years Comic Con with a panel for The Vampire Diaries. The TVD panel will take place on Saturday July 24. I will update with more info when i get it.

On June 21st Ian took part in the “Larry King Live: Disaster In The Gulf” Telethon in Hollywood to help the Gulf coast. The Telethon its self was a huge success raising over $1.27 Million for the clean-up. So thanks to everyone who donated.

CNN and Larry King will present a two-hour telethon next week to help victims of the Gulf Coast oil disaster.

The special, which will air at 9 p.m. ET Monday (June 21), will raise money for three charities: The United Way, the National Wildlife Federation and the Nature Conservancy. The United Way is providing emergency help for people whose livelihoods are affected by the spill and is developing long-term plans to help the region recover economically; both the National Wildlife Federation and the Nature Conservancy are involved in cleanup efforts.

Among the celebrity participants in the telethon are Gulf Coast natives Harry Connick Jr., Aaron Neville, Tim McGraw, Ian Somerhalder and James Carville. Carville’s wife, Mary Matalin, Alyssa Milano, Sting, Robert Redford, Ted Danson, Melania and Ivanka Trump, Chelsea Handler, Jenny McCarthy, Lenny Kravitz, Pete Wentz, Tyson Ritter, Edward James Olmos and Philippe Cousteau have also pledged their help.
